The University of Lincoln and Bluecube have partnered to deliver a two-day Covid support webinar ‘Business Reimagined’ this November.

Bluecube and UoL have joined forces with seven organisations which will contribute in delivering a series of interactive webinars which aim to help businesses adapting to COVID-19 make remote working work for their teams, and their business.

The supporting businesses involved are Streets AccountantsActive LincolnshireAmica HRMosaicFaster Britain and Cyberlab.

‘Business Reimagined’ is the brainchild of Paul Reames, founder and owner of Bluecube. The webinar will be hosted by BBC Presenter and journalist Lucy Hedges where she will share her insights throughout the event.

They will address the big challenges facing businesses right now, including IT and security, health and safety in the workplace and home office, engaging a remote workforce, finance and HR.

The free event takes place across two days on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 November, from 11am.

Lucy Hedges, BBC presenter and technology journalist, said: “The events of this year have seen businesses across the UK forced into a new way of working.

“This event is designed to help the business community adapt and take advantage of some expert local advice to ensure they’re making the right decisions.”

Paul Reames, managing director at Bluecube, added: “Businesses have had a difficult time over the past few months, making quick decisions about how to adapt their business and workforce for home working.

“For many businesses, this means adapting to a more flexible home/office split and that comes with a number of challenges.

“We’re confident that ‘Business Reimagined’ will give people the information and advice that they need to advance and adapt different areas of their business – from assessing employment contracts and health and safety while working at home to security considerations for remote working and how to keep teams engaged.

Paul will share his expertise to help attendees better understand how they can provide their employees and collaborators with efficient yet simple to use communication tools, alongside Faster Britain, an initiative that will provide businesses with full fibre ultrafast connectivity when the new network build is completed in Lincoln.

Active Lincolnshire will explore the psychological impact of working from home and how attendees can help their workforce adapt, while Amica HR will provide an in-depth look across all aspects of HR and how businesses can implement best practices in line with the latest government guidelines.

Ben James from Mosaic, Lincoln’s Digital Hub and co-working space, will also address the pros and cons of office working, flexible working and co-working.

There will also be opportunities for attendees to ask questions and discuss issues or interests with the speakers.

The University of Lincoln is supporting the event as part of The Productivity Programme for Greater Lincolnshire, delivered by the University of Lincoln and funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

The programme offers micro, small and medium-sized businesses within Greater Lincolnshire various strands of support through grant funding, business advice and collaboration with the academic expertise of the University of Lincoln.
