Apple revealed their hotly anticipated iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max on Tuesday 10th September 2019.

So, what’s new?

Multi-cams

The general look of the iPhone 11 doesn’t differ very much from the iPhone X models. The pill shape for the front camera is still there and the seamless glass front remains.

The biggest difference to the iPhone 11 ranges is what is happening on the back. Apple has finally followed its competitors and introduced multi-camera systems.

The iPhone 11R features 2 new cameras to the rear – a 12-megapixel camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle. Meanwhile, the iPhone 11 Pro & Pro Max features a triple camera set up with one 12-megapixel camera, one 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens for close-ups.

For you selfie lovers out there, the front camera on all models is a 12-megapixel camera with, what Apple is calling Advanced Face ID (details of which they’ve yet to release).

Faster Speed

Whilst much hasn’t changed on the outside, under the boot there’s been a serious upgrade in performance. Apple has introduced the A13 Bionic in the iPhone 11. This is the fastest processing chip to date in a smartphone.

The chip has been announced to perform CPU and GNU tasks 20 per cent faster than the A12. The A13 Bionic has also been designed for machine learning to allow for the CPU to deliver more than 1 trillion operations per second.

Along with iOS 13 that come preinstalled, the iPhone 11 is due to be one speedy device!

Our Verdict

Whilst it’s nice to finally see how Apple will take on the growing trend of having multiple cameras on a device, there isn’t much in the way of innovation in this device. Personally, we’re far more excited to see the launch of iOS 13 as that looks set to bring some real innovation we expect from Apple.
