Over three days in May 2016 the team at Bluecube will be walking 60 miles from Carlisle to Newcastle upon Tyne to raise awareness and vital sponsorship for St Barnabas Lincoln Hospice.

The walk is the latest challenge in a series of fundraising events organised by Bluecube Director Paul Reames, in memory of his father John Reames who sadly died from Cancer in 2008 at the age of 66. The trek across Northumbria will follow Hadrian’s Wall and involve 2 overnight stops before finishing in Newcastle on the third and final day.

Amongst the long distance walkers will be Bluecube staff, members of the Reames family and friends of the family.

Previous treks have been a Trans Pennine trail in 2008, climbing Ben Nevis and Binnein Mor over 2 days in 2009, a 110 mile bike ride across the Pennines to Lincolnshire in 2010, climbing Snowdon in 2013 and Helvellyn in 2015. Fundraising to date has reached almost £7000 which has been donated to both St Barnabas Lincoln Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

Hadrian's Wall

These fundraising events began as an opportunity to raise money for some very important charities and to remember my late father John Reames. However, most of us have been affected by cancer in some way or another and will know how important it is to support the fight against cancer and to those providing help for the victims of this awful disease – Paul Reames
