Bluecube was instructed by London financial services company Shard Capital Partners to provide a high-capability telephone system at their prestigious offices in London’s famous tower, 20 Fenchurch Street in London, better known as the “Walkie-Talkie” building.

The challenge 

Retaining all the established phone numbers, offering the high levels of functionality required by the client including call recording and call recording archives for industry compliance.

Porting all numbers to this cloud-based phone system solution and running voice traffic over high-speed Ethernet connectivity.

A fully compliant and high specification Cisco Broadsoft hosted phone system that integrates with the client’s own customer management system to offer additional efficiency throughout the business.

Call recording

In addition to providing a business communications and phone system that offered Shard a rich set of PBX features, security was a priority on the company’s agenda. As a leading investment management business in the financial sector, the security of live and recorded client conversations was paramount.

Cisco Broadsoft cloud call recording storage meets all MiFID II & PCI obligations and ensures calls are stored securely and are compliant. Recordings are accessed by authorised users via the Bluecube management portal which is fully end to end secure.

Business Telephony and flexible working during the pandemic

Required was a fully compliant and high specification phone system that integrated with the client’s own customer management system to offer additional efficiency throughout the business.

The system was pre-configured and installed at the client’s 23rd floor London office. The system offered live presence of colleagues on and off site and integrated well with other key software used by the business. Features included were:

  • Disaster recovery and auto divert functionality
  • 100+ phone system features plus mobility
  • Collaboration – chat, file sharing
  • Live call reporting and call management plugin

In March 2020 like all UK business, the client was asked by the UK government to work from home. The solution already installed at Shard meant that end users simply needed to download and activate a softphone with support from Bluecube. End users were able to make, receive and manage calls using a laptop, PC or Mac. The mobile application available from Bluecube also enabled the client’s team to work on the move.
